MinaPrivacy Policy
The short version: Mina has no server and no account. What you log stays on your phone and in your own iCloud, shared only with the people you invite. We don't collect, see, sell or analyze anything.
What the app stores
Entries you create: feeds, diapers, sleep, notes, pumping, growth measurements, medicine, tummy time, baths, temperatures and milestones, each with a time, an optional note, and an optional name you choose to show on entries. Also the baby's name and birthday you enter, and your settings (units, notification preferences).
Where it is stored
- On your phone, in the app's own storage, which your widgets also read.
- In your iCloud, in the private CloudKit database attached to your Apple Account, so your own devices stay in sync. Apple encrypts this data in transit and at rest. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's privacy policy.
- With people you invite. If you use “Share with your partner”, the log is shared through iCloud sharing with the specific Apple Accounts you choose. They can read and add entries. You can stop sharing at any time from Settings, and Apple removes their access.
Mina does not operate any servers. No entry, name, date or usage information is ever sent to the developer or to any third party.
What the app does not do
- No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No third-party SDKs.
- No tracking across apps or websites.
Siri and Shortcuts
Voice phrases are handled by Apple's Siri on your device and passed to the app as a structured request (for example, “log a 4 ounce bottle”). Mina receives only the resulting values, not audio. Apple's handling of Siri requests is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Dictation and read-aloud
The Ask screen can take a question by voice and read the answer aloud. Dictation uses Apple's on-device speech recognition and is disabled if the phone can't recognise speech locally; audio never leaves the phone. Read-aloud uses the system voice. Both are optional and off until you tap them.
Notifications
Partner alerts and feed reminders are created on your phone from data already on it. Mina uses Apple's silent push only so iCloud can tell the app that new data is available; those pushes carry no content.
Nanit (optional)
If you choose to connect a Nanit camera, Mina signs in to Nanit's service with the email and password you enter, keeps only the resulting sign-in token in your phone's Keychain, and periodically reads the camera's event list to create sleep entries. Your password is not stored. This is an unofficial integration with Nanit's own service and is governed by Nanit's terms and privacy policy. Disconnecting in Settings deletes the token.
Children's privacy
Mina is used by parents and caregivers to keep notes about their own child. It does not collect any information from children and does not transmit information about a child to the developer.
Deleting your data
Delete entries in the app, or delete the app to remove local data. To remove the iCloud copy, delete the app's data under Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Storage, or stop sharing to remove a partner's access.
